Traditional Costumes at an International Exhibition

September 16, 2026 By admin

The photograph shows two women posing inside what appears to be a large international exhibition or tourism fair. They are wearing elaborate, highly decorative traditional dresses, with enormous full skirts extending outward from the waist. The costumes are predominantly red, white, black and burgundy, with dense floral and ornamental patterns, lace edging, embroidered-looking panels, and broad striped sections toward the bottom of the skirts.

Both women wear white blouses with large red-and-black decorative panels across the chest and shoulders. Their dresses also have elaborate waist ornaments, and the woman on the right is wearing a prominent circular or oval decorative piece at the front of her bodice. Their hair is pulled back, and both are smiling directly toward the camera, suggesting they are posing specifically for the photograph rather than performing.

The surrounding environment is quite revealing. This isn’t a traditional village or outdoor festival: there are modern exhibition stands, large photographic backdrops showing tropical vegetation and palm trees, high tables and stools, hanging modern lamps, and a crowd moving around behind them. A large black speaker is visible toward the left, suggesting there may also have been presentations or performances. The red geometric railing around the seating area and the tropical promotional imagery give the space the appearance of a national or regional tourism pavilion at a trade fair.
